This video, published by Columbia Gorge Community College, is the first part of a two part lecture on wound rotor induction motors. The lecture covers "the construction and theory of operation of wound rotor induction motors as well as examine their mechanical and electrical properties while in operation." In this video, presenter Jim Pytel focuses on the construction and operation of wound rotor induction motors, the difference between design B and D rotors, and the secondary resister reduced voltage starter. Also discussed is rotor resistance and slip rings in wound rotor induction motors.

This video runs 12:13 minutes in length. The second part of the lecture is available to view separately
