Gateway to Manufacturing Excellence Project

The project targets high school and college students interested in manufacturing and engineering education. Funding is through the National Science Foundation's Advance Technological Education program. One highlight of the project is the development of a 2-plus-2 program in Manufacturing Engineering. Students earning an associate degree in Manufacturing Technology at Florissant Valley will be able to transfer to the University of Missouri at Rolla or Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville and earn a bachelor's degree without losing any credits. Florissant Valley will also implement associate degree level courses in product design and manufacturing process, a developmental program in pre-Engineering Technology and host summer academies for high school students and teachers. More information on this program and links to summer manufacturing workshops for students and teachers can be found here.
