Roadmap to a Grid-Tied PV Array

This webinar, hosted by the Advanced Technology Environmental and Energy Center (ATEEC), is designed to introduce high schools and community colleges to the installation of photovoltaic grid-tied PV array systems for renewable energy programs. The presentation will begin with information on the design and permitting of a system, and continue through the installation and commissioning stages. Finally, the webinar team will present some ideas on wiring instruction for the classroom.

SCME Microsystems Webinar Series - Microsystem Processes Part I - Deposition

The Southwest Center for Microsystems Education (SCME) presents free interactive online seminars that participants can attend from virtually anywhere. Each live 90-minute session is presented by subject matter experts and includes screen sharing, live chat, and Q & A. Webinars are recorded for repeat viewing and to use in classroom presentations.

The first in the series is Microsystem Processes Part I - Deposition. The webinar, which takes place at 1:00 pm EST, will address two primary questions regarding deposition: What is it? How it is used to fabricate micro-sized devices?

In addition, the webinar will touch on the following topics: thermal oxidation, chemical vapor deposition, metallization, electrodeposition, and characteristics and applications for each of these processes.

ATE Evaluation: Measuring Reaction, Learning, Behavior, and Results

In this pre-conference workshop before the ATE PI meeting, participants will receive guidance about the evaluating their ATE initiatives in practical, yet meaningful ways.

Workshop attendees will learn about what questions should drive data collection at each level, steps to take to obtain data of sufficient quantity and quality, and how to interpret and use the evaluation results. The last hour of the session will focus on strategies for tracking program graduates to determine their employment and education outcomes.

This segment will be conducted as a panel session featuring ATE PIs who have been successful in tracking their grads. The workshop will be led by Lori Wingate, PI for EvaluATE, the Evaluation Resource Center for the ATE program and Kevin Cooper, PI for the Regional Center For Nuclear Energy Education and Training. The session includes hands-on activities for participants to apply the concepts to their own ATE grants.
