This is an introductory course for drones and how to establish a program in your school. Participants will learn regulations, safety considerations, and how to overcome the major hurdles to getting drones in the school. We will cover maintaining and keeping your drone(s) airworthy as well as hone flying skills in line of sight (LOS) and first person view (FPV). Participants will also learn autonomous flight coding software to program your drone for basic maneuvers and flight plans. This workshop provides a high-level overview of the many aspects of drone operations to include; Basic Parts and Components, User Maintenance and Documentation, Flight Simulators, Practical Flight Experience in LOS and FPV along with best practices for logging and tracking flight hours. Attendees will learn basic uses and applications for Geospatial and Analysis using Drones. The workshop will culminate in a hands-on competition incorporating all aspects of the training. 

Who should attend: Secondary and Post-Secondary Instructors Teaching in STEM Related Disciplines Looking at UAS and GIT Program and Courseware Development.

Application Process: Registration is free for this workshop and meals are provided during the workshop hours.  Participants are responsible for all travel cost to the workshop, however eligible participants are able to received up to $800 reimbursement after attending.
