Environmental Justice Activity

This 8-page activity, from the Advanced Technology Environmental and Energy Center, has students learn about environmental justice by examining a case study. The case study explores the decline of a loca l neighborhood and how the decline might represent an environmental injustice caused by pollution or some other environmental factor. General economic downturn in the community and natural disasters are considered as well. In the activity, students identify and describe issues from various stakeholders' points of view. Additionally, the document includes information on how this case study was developed and how educators can creator their own.
