Maureen Pettitt

Since retiring from Skagit Valley College, I have focused my time and energy on my consulting. I am currently serving as the external evaluator for multiple Department of Education grants (Title III, Title III grants and Title V grants) and National Science Foundation grants. In recent years I have had the opportunity to facilitate planning sessions for United Way of Skagit County, WSU Extension (Skagit), Skagit County Department of Public Health and Community Services, and Nutrition First of Washington State. Recently, I planned and facilitated the strategic plan process for the Alliance for Hispanic Serving Institution Educators (AHSIE), a national organization that supports their 600 members through professional development.

Each of these organizations and/or their boards had different cultures and issues, and consequently required a unique approach to planning. As part of the planning process, I developed and facilitated workshops on team building and leadership for several of these organizations. In addition, I regularly conduct workshops on logic model development and grant evaluation for educational and non-profit organizations, including United Way of Skagit County and their partner agencies.

My professional memberships include the Association for Institutional Research (granted emeritus status based on longevity and contributions to the organization) and the American Evaluation Association. I am a member of the Skagit County Population Health Trust Advisory Committee, the Museum of Flight (Seattle) Aerospace Science Program Advisory Committee, and the Skagit County Child Nutrition Coalition. I also serve as an Editorial Board Member for the journal, Learning Communities Research and Practice (LCRP), responsible for reviewing and providing feedback on manuscripts submitted for possible publication in this online journal.
