Introduction to Alternative and Renewable Energy: Wind Energy
These presentation slides are intended for use in a college-level introductory course in alternative and renewable energy. The slides covers wind energy production and includes details on theory of operation, sizes and types of turbines. Global wind patterns, jet streams wind velocity gradient, wind turbine placement, and kinetic energy and power in wind are also discussed. Vertical axis turbines are discussed at the end of the presentation. A number of useful graphics are included to illustrate the material. This presentation may be downloaded in PDF file format.
