SCADA Module 1 - SCADA Overview

This presentation, published by the Center for Renewable Energy Advanced Technological Education Resource Center (CREATE), is part of a series that introduces learners to Supervisory Controls and Data Acquisition (SCADA) for renewable energy. 

The presentation provides an overview of SCADA, which is a "range of process control systems and formats" that are "used to operate industrial processes." The importance of SCADA; a comparison between DCS and SCADA; SCADA's basic functions, components, and operations; and a comparison between proprietary and open SCADA are highlighted. A course outline, learning objectives, and additional learning materials are also provided.
